1953 Buddy L No 3317 Emergency Auto Wrecker In Original Box
Super streamlined low skirted pressed steel auto wrecker by Buddy L. Brilliant yellow and red enamel paint is all original. Comes complete with awesome original box. Both the truck and box grade an incredible near mint condition and is one of the best I've seen. Features early 1950s 'styling used on many of the mid-size Buddy L's. Entire vehicle is made from two folded sheets of pressed steel. The enclosed cab with divided windshield was made from one sheet, while the trailer bed was produced from a second. The two were then tabbed together. The chrome plated grille with bumper and dummy headlights is a single component. The red crane has its original hook. It did not come with a winch. The crane can be disconnected from the trailer bed. The tires are solid black rubber with plated metal hubs. It has its original Buddy L Emergency Auto Wrecker decals applied on either side of the exterior trailer walls. The original box (green printed on pale yellow or white card stock) was illustrated with a detailed drawing of the vehicle. It takes up most of the panel. The remaining two panels were printed with the Buddy L logo, the company motto, and plant address. The endflaps have the toy name and catalog number.
